"We use OASIS to ensure we get the most out of our two Internet connections. Not only do we run an on site mail server and use the web for general health care industry needs, but we have remote users accessing our Citrix servers over the web to access patient data from home or the hospital. OASIS was recommended to us as a means to ensure our Internet connections would always be up and we could use the full bandwidth of both lines."

Onlight offers state-of-the-art customized mail gateway systems that block spam and viruses utilizing the latest in standards-based, Open Source, free-software running on industry-standard hardware.

Our systems are not off-the-shelf "appliances" that may or may not fit all your requirements. We work with you to determine the best course of action for your needs and design your system accordingly.

We also guard against vendor over-reliance by providing a solution based on Internet Standards, not just the obvious Simple Transport Protocol (SMTP). Our systems are poised to adapt and grow with the Internet in a compatible and complaint manner.

Our systems have:

  • Viruses and harmful attachments removed by multiple virus engines.
  • Compatibility with Exchange and ALL email systems with their own domain names.
  • The ability to "white" list and "black" list per user.
  • The ability to work with existing third party solutions.
  • Flexibility to let you do what you want with your SPAM.

Why Open Source/Free Software?

The use of Open Source/Free Software (OSFS) provides for highly reliable, low-cost, easy and flexible maintenance, security and transparency. Open-Source means that the source code, the human readable programs which are later made machine readable, is available to the world at large. Free Software means that the software may be freely reproduced, modified, etc. by the user. OSFS is also frequently, though not always, available free of charge.

OSFS is typically written and maintained by large numbers of programmers, some paid (by schools, government, industry group, or business) some volunteer, all over the world. The large population of computer users and programmers using OSFS is reflected in the rapid and ready availability of patches or fixes in event a security or other flaw or bug is uncovered. In addition, since the source code to the software is available for perusal, it is much easier for potential flaws to be uncovered and fixed before they are actually exploited by hackers (malevolent or not).
